Providence is a four song album inspired by what i feel as i read the works of H.P. Lovecraft. I remember reading my first Lovecraft book. We all had a first..The Call of Cthulhu, was my first. I was brought into his world, i could hear the breathing of the Elder Gods. I could smell the madness, the chanting..I wanted to go see the Deep Ones and i was hooked. Check out Neil Grisom's adaptions on You-Tube. The way he reads out loud Lovecraft's works is wicked.
I really love monsters, spooks, things, that go bump in the night (unless it is the random kicking of one of my bookcases when the lights are off with my foot) the Supernatural and the telling of a good story.
I feel each Supernatural tale is a story about humanity. A story on how we humans treat each other, the environment, and themselves. I also feel the stories by Lovecraft, Poe, Poppy Z. Brite, Neil Gaiman and others are the telling of us their personal story and what are they going through, what scares the beep out of them, and the questions they are wrestling with. By them doing this we become even more alive, we survive, we evolve as well..we live another night..to tell our stories.
I sincerely hope you enjoy Providence, that it takes you on some uncharted adventure and that Providence will maybe...Make your hairs rise up a lil.. Penny
